ASCII.DISKO

Daniel Gerhard Holc, aka Ascii.Disko, is a German-born, Spain-based multimedia artist and electronic music producer. Emerging from the punk and alternative scenes of Bergheim in the early '90s, Holc built a DIY aesthetic that continues to define his work today—fusing analog textures with digital precision. His creative trajectory spans decades of graphic design, sound performance, and genre-defying releases across techno, electro, ambient, and industrial. As Ascii.Disko, Holc has released multiple critically acclaimed albums and EPs, performing internationally at clubs and festivals from Tokyo to Bogotá. Known for immersive audiovisual works and long-standing collaborations with Spanish artist Ana Laura Aláez, he crafts compelling narratives through a synergy of sound, image, and motion. His minimalist, often brutalist visual language carries into his sonic output under various aliases including The Left Hand Path and SHDWS. Whether through gritty video installations or atmospheric soundscapes, Holc continually blurs the line between art and music—always evolving, never complacent.
