Marie-Claire Schlameus, known as mcchaos, is a classically trained cellist and singer based between Berlin and Helsinki. She draws on the full percussive and lyrical range of her instrument and voice to create her music. In addition to arranging for bands, film, and theatrical productions, she a part of many projects in particular toechter and sometimes with others. Since 2022, she has been part of live bands for Danish artist Agnes Obel, German rapper Casper, and actress Meret Becker, performing with vocals, cello, loop station, and synthesizer. She has toured extensively across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. In the studio, she has collaborated with Agnes Obel, Swans, Ólafur Arnalds, and has worked extensively with Tricky. MC studied cello and chamber music at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig.
